Character Description 2
Luca (Francesca’s younger brother)
Luca is a name based on an Italian origin. He plays the role of Francescas younger brother in the novel.
The novel “Saving Francesca is based for around 12 – 18 year old kids. This book talks about hard times teenagers may find in their life, for is unfolds Francesca’s tale slowely.
This book makes you feel sympathy for Luca and Francesca due to their mother being quite ill.
In this novel there is a some amounts of swearing in it or innapropriate language.Althought Luca does not swear in the book, many other older characters do. Luca is 10 years old. He is very cute and smart and supposibly has the voice of an angel.
Luca is a very emossional young kid. He is always happy and smiles but when he sees his mother derpessed, it kind of makes him feel the same way. Luca and Francesca are quite close to each other and comfort each other when they feel down about their mother.
This is a great book for teenagers to read and some of them may even understand what some of the characters are going through. Although, I personaly dont know anyone who I can relate to in this novel.
Character Description
Francesca is the main character in the novel, you can tell this due to her name been printed on the front cover of the novel. Francesca is a character who always seems depressed or that something’s wrong with her life. After her mother making her move to a new school, Francesca finds it hard to ‘fit in.’ Not only that but having to come home to her ‘sick’ mother which at a later date she realises that her mother has got depression, and having to help run the house with her dad and her little brother Luca whilst her mother is in bed. In the novel “Saving Francesca” by Melinda Marchetta the reader sees the writing style written in 1st person point of view. It describes a young teenager and her relationship between her and her mother. As the book is written in 1st person point of view it has been looked at from the daughter’s perspective. This book is made for teenagers for it describes things that have gone wrong in Francesca’s life. Francesca is a teenage currently attending her new school St Sebastian’s that has just recently turned Co-Ed with seven hundred and fifty girls and thirty girls. Francesca misses her old school St Stella with her friends. Having to put up with the very few girls at her new school who are ex Stella girls with the attitude that Francesca would say “Bitchiness” but discovering that her mother hasn’t been herself lately but really quite depressed so as the tale unfolds about Francesca and her life!
The novel “Saving Francesca” contains a fair amount of swearing or inappropriate language in the text. This makes the book more live like and makes you understand what Francesca might really be going through.
Francesca is a 17 year old girl who is currently attending St. Sebastian’s. She hates all the girls at St Sebastian’s who where ex Stella girls, she just wanted to go to Pius
Senior College and have her normal life back with her real friends from her old school. Francesca has the appearance of what you may called a ‘Tom Boy’ but there is no real evidence in the text about her appearance.

Movie Review- A Series of Unfortuate Events
Everybody in the whole wide world wants a loving family who supports them through everything. But as this movie explains, not everyone feels the same ways as others… Three orphans been left with no mother or father but each other. Having to venture into the whole wide world by themsleves with people after their them. Twists that have you on the edge of your seat, murders and tradgic deaths never been heard of before. It all begins with Lemony Snickets movie ” A Series of Unfortunate events.”
And so the tale unfolds with the orphans carer Mr Poe signing an agreement for the Baudelaire orphans staying with a man, and an evail man at that. Trying to take away the orphans huge fortune their parents left behind. And this is where the adventure begins.
The film closely follows the tradgic ending with the three young actors been put in the spotlight to act as orphans who lost their beloved parents in a tradgic house fire and having to stick together throught all the hard times they are having together.
The film makes you feel sympathy when evil scemes like none others are hatched to get the Bauldelaire orphans fortune! But at the same time you feel anger for the man who is trying to take away every little thing the orphans have left.
I found the film very interesting. When watching this movie it shows how much i have in my life compared to the three actors on the screen. This movie made me realise that i would rather have my family with no fortune the NO family with a fortune!
